چکیده

Two different series of H2 sensors were prepared. The first series was based on n-type semiconducting SnO2 thin films, prepared by the sol–gel method. The effect of Au and Pt nanoparticles in SnO2 was investigated for gas sensor applications. The second series was based on p-type NiO thin films, which were grown by pulsed laser deposition on microscope glass or (100) Si substrates. The effect of substrate temperature and O2 pressure during the deposition process on the morphological and sensing properties of the films has been investigated. The films were fully characterized. A significant response to a broad range of hydrogen concentrations was demonstrated for both series of films at operating temperatures lower than 200 C.

Preparation and Characterization of Reduced Graphene Oxide Doped in Sol-Gel Derived Silica for Application in Electrochemical Double-Layer Capacitors

In this study, a new graphene ceramic composite (GCC) was prepared based on the reduced grapheneoxide (rGO) doped in sol-gel derived silica. The GCC was prepared by dispersing rGO nanosheets intothe sol-gel precursors containing methyl triethoxysilane, methanol and hydrochloric acid solution.During an acid catalyzed hydrolyze reaction and gelation proc...

Investigation of corrosion protection properties of TiO2-CdO nanocomposite coating prepared by sol-gel method on copper

the Sol–gel nanocomposite coatings have been investigated for copper metal as a potential replacement for the hazardous and banned hexavalent chromate conversion coatings. TiO2–CdO nanocomposite thin films were deposited on copper using the sol–gel method. The sol-gel coatings were prepared using a sol obtained by the hydrolysis and condensation of tetra-o-butyl titanate. They were doped with c...

The effect of solvent of titanium precursor in the sol-gel process on the activity of TiO2 nanoparticles for H2 production

A modified sol-gel process has been found to significantly improve the photocatalytic activity of TiO2 nanoparticle in the process of solar hydrogen production. The surface of TiO2 nanoparticles were modified by the optimization of solvent of titanium precursor (acetic acid and/or ethanol) in the sol-gel method. A multi technique approach (SEM, XRD, FTIR, UV-DRS and TGA) was used to characteriz...

Comparative Study of Nanostructured Zr-Fe2O3 and CNT Modified Zr-Fe2O3 Thin Films for Photo Electrochemical Generation of Hydrogen

Nanostructured hematite thin films are doped with zirconium successfully and also modified by introducing CNT using sol-gel method for their implementation as photo-electrode in photo-electrochemical (PEC) cell for hydrogen generation. XRD, UV-visible spectroscopy and PEC study techniques are used to characterize the thin films. The PEC responses of thin films are improved by introducing carbon...
